Effective Speaking team
The Effective Speaking (ES) program provides opportunity for Air Cadets to find their voice and build self-confidence through practice, instruction, and competition.
Aims of Effective Speaking Program
- To provide an opportunity for Air Cadets to increase their self confidence; and increase their ability to reason, organize and express ideas.
- To promote the citizenship component of local squadron training.
- To provide a focus at the Local, Regional/Wing, Provincial/Territorial, and National levels, to promote and encourage Air Cadets to participate in an optional activity that will provide them with an opportunity to acquire effective speaking skills through instruction and practice in a structured and competitive environment.
- To increase public awareness regarding the citizenship and leadership aspects of the Air Cadet program at the national, provincial, and local levels.

Effective Speaking Competition Pins
Bronze
Winner of the Zone level competition.
Silver
Winners of the Provincial level competition.
Gold
Winners of the National level competition.
Pin placement:
- The Zone, Provincial or National Competition Pin awarded under the Air Cadet League of Canada effective Speaking Competition shall be worn centred on the left breast pocket, equidistant between the lower seam and the lower edge of the jacket pocket flap
- Only one Effective Speaking Competition Pin is permitted on the uniform indicating the highest level attained by the cadet
