Become a Cadet
If you are between the ages of 12 and 18 years and are looking for fun and challenging activities while making new friends and learning valuable life skills, then 205 Collishaw Squadron Air Cadets is for YOU! You are eligible to join once you have reached your 12th birthday.
Cadets will receive training in flying and gliding, physical fitness, public speaking, citizenship, and precision drill while making new friends and learning valuable life skills here at 205 Collishaw Squadron.
Important: This is not an application to join the Canadian Armed Forces. Air Cadets are not members of the Canadian Armed Forces, and the program is not a prerequisite for military service.

REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS
- New Cadets: Complete Parts 1, 2, 3, and 4 (one-time requirement)
- Returning Cadets: Complete Parts 2, 3, 4, and 5 (required annually)
PART 1
NEW CADET Online Application (ONE TIME ONLY)
How to register with 205 Collishaw Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron (RCACS).
Step 1: Prepare before you start
Have ready:
- Health card number + expiry date (if applicable)
- Parent/guardian addresses and phone numbers
Step 2: Online application
- Click “Join the Cadet Program” (link below)
- Your squadron name will auto-fill (205 COLLISHAW NANAIMO, ROYAL CANADIAN AIR CADET SQUADRON)
- Enter your email and select “Start New Application”
- Check email → click “Continue Application”
- Complete and submit the form
- You’ll get a confirmation email once submitted indicating that your application has been sent to 205 Collishaw Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron.
Step 3: Follow-up
After submission:
- The Administration Officer will contact you
- You’ll schedule a meeting to:
- Verify your information
- Check ID documents
- Answer questions
- Welcome you to the program
PART 2
CADET CONTACT FORM (ALL cadets yearly)

- Submit it
- Return to the Become a Cadet page to continue registration
PART 3
ANNUAL FEE (ALL cadets yearly)
- Paid through 205 Collishaw RCACS Sponsoring Committee’s Assessment Fee portal.
- The current annual fee is $200. If registering partway through the year, please contact the Support Desk to confirm the applicable amount.
While there is no cost to cadets for uniforms or participation in the core elements of the Air Cadet Program, the Squadron Sponsoring Committee (SSC) collects an annual assessment fee to help cover expenses such as facility rentals, training equipment, insurance for gliders and tow aircraft, and other program-related costs.
The SSC is a registered charity made up of screened parent/guardian volunteers and community members. It is responsible for fundraising to support squadron activities, including power familiarization flying, weekend exercises, band expenses, entrance fees, transportation for outings, as well as rent, insurance, and general operating costs. Important:
- No cadet is refused due to inability to pay
- Fee exemption requests go to Support Desk (confidential)
PART 4
CODE OF CONDUCT (ALL cadets yearly)
Must be:
- Filled out
- Printed
- Signed
- Handed to the Administration Officer at Local Headquarters (LHQ) during office hours Thursday 18:00-21:00 hrs. Deadline: within 30 days of joining each year.

PART 5
ANNUAL VALIDATION FORM (Returning cadets only)
- Given at start of training year (September)
- Must be:
- Signed by parent/guardian
- Returned within 30 days. If not returned on time: Cadet may not be allowed to participate
